Faster Charging Speeds
Stop waiting days for your car to charge on a standard wall outlet. We install dedicated 240-volt Level 2 charging stations that charge your EV up to 8x faster, typically giving you a full battery overnight so you're always ready to drive around Rockford or commute to Chicago.
Chargers for Every Vehicle
Whether you drive a Tesla, Ford Lightning, Chevy Bolt, or Rivian, we install the right equipment for your vehicle. We work with all major charger brands and can install NEMA 14-50 outlets or hardwired wall connectors to ensure perfect compatibility with your specific electric vehicle
Safety as a Priority
EV chargers draw significant power that can overheat standard wiring. Our licensed electricians ensure your installation meets all Rockford building codes and safety standards, using the correct wire gauge and dedicated circuits to prevent fire hazards and protect your home's electrical system.
Electrical System Assessment
Adding an EV charger adds a major load to your home's panel. We perform a thorough load calculation before installation to determine if your current electrical panel can handle the new demand, or if a service upgrade is needed to charge your car safely without tripping breakers.

Ace Electric did a phenomenal job with installing a 60 amp sub panel in my garage. I called them to get an estimate and they came to my home quickly and gave me an estimate. They completed the work a few days later and answered all of my questions and concerns. They were prompt, knowledgeable and very reasonably priced! Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging, and which one do I need?
Level 1 charging uses a standard 120-volt outlet (like a lamp plugs into) and is very slow, typically adding only 3-5 miles of range per hour—often taking over 24 hours for a full charge. Level 2 charging uses a 240-volt dedicated circuit (similar to an electric dryer) and charges much faster, fully charging most EVs in 3-8 hours. For most Rockford homeowners, we recommend a Level 2 installation because it allows you to wake up every morning with a full battery, regardless of how much you drove the day before.
Can my current electrical panel handle an EV charger?
It depends on your home's current service size (amps) and existing electrical load. Many older Rockford homes with 60 or 100-amp panels may require a panel upgrade to safely support the additional 30-60 amps an EV charger typically requires. We provide a comprehensive electrical load assessment during our initial estimate to determine if your current system is "EV ready" or if an upgrade is recommended.
How much does it cost to install a home EV charger in Rockford?
Installation costs generally range between $750 and $2,000, varying based on the distance from your electrical panel to the garage or driveway, and whether your panel has sufficient capacity. This price typically covers the labor, permits, and materials (wire, conduit, breakers), but usually excludes the cost of the charging unit itself. We provide clear, upfront pricing so you know exactly what to expect for your specific installation.
